JKUAT Alumni Association established following the university's attainment of full university status. The founding chapter met at the Juja campus with 47 charter members.
The United Kingdom chapter becomes the first international JKUAT Alumni chapter, serving graduates in Europe.
The iconic JKUAT Alumni Annual Gala is inaugurated, becoming the premier networking event in the Kenyan tech and agriculture calendar.
The Alumni Scholarship Fund is established, providing bursaries to deserving JKUAT students from humble backgrounds.
Launch of the first online alumni portal, connecting over 8,000 registered graduates across 12 countries.
Association formally aligns its programmes to Kenya's Big 4 Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Launch of the new integrated alumni management system with M-Pesa payments, mentorship matching, and real-time event check-in.
The association is governed by a constitution ratified by the general membership. Key provisions include:
Open to all JKUAT graduates and former students. Associate membership available to current staff and friends of the university.
National Executive Committee elected every two years by paid-up members at the Annual General Meeting. Positions include President, Vice President, Secretary General, and Treasurer.
Annual subscriptions, events revenue, and corporate partnerships fund activities. Accounts independently audited. M-Pesa and bank transfers accepted.
Chapters established in counties, cities, or countries with at least 20 registered members. Each chapter governed by an elected committee.
Annual General Meeting held each year. Extraordinary General Meetings called by the President or petition of 25% of paid-up members.
Disputes resolved through an internal Dispute Resolution Committee. External arbitration available under Kenyan law.
